FAMILIES ARE FOREVER

August 31, 2015

FAMILY!!!

The last letter. Wow. This has been an incredible adventure. I really don´t have much to write because I want to share everything that has been going on in person. This last weekend was the best weekend of my whole mission. I will tell you all about it on Thursday. :) I am so grateful for your love, support, and prayers these last 2 years. I can honestly say I have the best family in the whole World! I believe in miracles. I know that Heavnely Father loves us and that He has a perfect plan for each one of us His childeren. My testimony has grown so much.

Wednesday I have permision to go say good bye to my friends in Progresso! That will be fun! :) I feel so many emotions right now. I feel sort of like I felt 3 days before I left home. It's so hard for me to have to leave this beautiful country and the people I love so much but at the same time I am so excited to see each one of you. I am especially excited to meet my little brother CANNON! :)
Have a great few days and then you will all be in my arms. Hasta pronto!

Hello Family!

Thank you so much for your emails. Is this really my second to last p-day in Honduras? Today I cut my hair for the last time in Honduras. It's really hard for me to believe that two years have gone by! I feel so excited to see each one of you and at the same time I feel sad about leaving beautiful Honduras and all the people I love so much. The mission is the greatest experience I have ever had in my life.

This last weekend was really special because Bro and Sis Mejia Carbajal were MARRIED!!! and Sis Carbajal was baptised!!! The only obstacle Bro Mejia faces to be baptised is changing his work schedule so that he can have Sunday off work. He wasn´t able to change his schedule in time for the baptism but he will know soon if they give him Sunday off work so that he then can be baptised. Their 16yr old son Christian who is a recent convert baptised his mother. It was very special. I know that their family will be eternal. :) We are also teaching a member reference named Edgard. He is 19 yrs old. During the first lesson we challenged him to be baptised on Sep 12 and he accepted. After teaching him the first time he went home read the whole pamphlet of the restoration and prayed and asked Heavenly Father. The next visit he told us that he did recieve an answer, that he knows this is the truth and that he desires to be baptised. What a special miracle! I have never seen someone who is as prepared as he is. He also went to the baptism on Saturday and he has gone twice to church. He has the desire to serve a mission and would like to go to Argentina. Edgard is awesome!

We had interviews with Pres. Klein on Friday. My last interview! It was very different from all the interviews ive had before with him. We talked about my plans in life for: study, work, marriage, and staying true to the faith until the end. He gave me great counsel. I love Pres. Klein. He has been and will always be a great example to me. Saturday morning we listened to Pres. Russell M. Nelson brodcasted from Tegucigalpa! He spoke to all the missionaries in Honduras. Two missions in person and the other two broadcasted. It was a really special conference. His main message is that we help the people make it to the Temple. I felt the spirit strongly and I know that the leaders of the Church are inspired and guided by the Holy Ghost. I know that they have been called of God.

Family, I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know He and Heavenly Father love us. Heavenly Father really is the Father of our spirits. He loves us more than we can imagine. He has a perfect, and personal plan for each one of us. Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the spring of 1820. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Something new I learned on divisions yesterday with Elder Reese is that the Old Testament, New Testament, and the Book of Mormon begin with a family. Adam and Eve. Joseph and Mary, Lehi and Sariah. The family is a key part of the plan of salvation. He wants us to live happy together in this life and for all eternity. I love you all so much. You are my family. I am eternally grateful to be your son/brother. Keep pressing forward family! Have a fantastic week!

Hey family!

Wow sounds like the family reunion was a blast! You did so many great activities. It all sounds really funny also. haha I would have loved being there. Maybe we can go again in a few years. :) I really can´t believe how close we are to being together again. I'm giving it all I´ve got until the very end. It will be so wonderful to see each one of you again.

Things are going beyond great here! We are seing many miracles. Very likely this last week was the most succesful week I have had on my mission. The Lord is helping us and He is preparing the way.

On Thursday Miguel Carbahal´s mother passed away. She lived in the house with them. It's sad she had to pass away but the Mejia Carbahal family has lots of faith and they are handling things well. They know it's part of Heavenly Father's plan. Thursday night they had a viewing in their home and a huge part of the Ward was there giving love and support. We sang hymns by the side of the casket. The spirit was strong. Miguel and Marta were so grateful for the love and support the ward gave. We had talked with them last Tuesday and we found out that they both have their papers to get married! They decided that it would be better to do the wedding this Friday instead of last Friday so they could prepare things better. With the passing of Miguel's mom it all worked out how it needed to. His work gave him the whole weekend off so he was able to join us at Church yesterday. It was so great! It was the first time he has been able to see his son Christian bless the sacrament. Today he is going to talk with his boss and ask to have Sundays off. If he gets work off on Sundays he will be able to be baptised this Saturday with his wife Marta! They are getting married this Friday at 4:00. :) We are praying with all our heart that everything will work out and that his boss will soften her heart and give him Sundays off.

Another awesome thing that happened this last week was we stopped a man who always says hi to us on his bike. We told him who we are and gave him a pamphlet of the Restoration. He was very willing to learn more. We set a date to visit him in his home. My companion went with Elder Streeter because we were on divisions that day but my companion said that he read the whole pamphlet with all of his family and that they loved it! They excitedly accepted the invitation to join us at Church and yesterday we passed by for them and they went with us! The dad's name is Raul and his wife's name is Rosa and they have three little girls. They all came to Church yesterday! Many blessings come from just opening the mouth and proclaming the gospel. Tonight we have FHE with them and the Fernandez family (the members who live right in front of us).

I know more than I ever have before that Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for each one of us. He works in mysterious ways to accomplish his great designs. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know with all my heart that miracles exist. Heavenly Father loves us more than we can imagine. I love you all so much and hope you have a super great week! I am so excited for this week! It's going to be the best week ever!!!

Hola!

August 10, 2015

Hello Family!

I'm really out of time but thank you so much for all of your emails. Thanks for sending the great pictures too. I love you all so much. It won´t be too long until we can talk face to face about all that has gone on these last two years.

My companion and I are working hard. We taught 47 lessons and found 26 new investigators this last week. There are so many people here willing to hear the gospel. Sometimes the trial is helping them act upon what they learn. That's the difficult part. Sis Mejia Carbahal(Marta) has all her papers to get married and Bro Mejia (Miguel) should have taken his out today. We are going to visit them tonight and find out! :) They are getting so close!!! I am so happy for them and I know that one day they will make it to the temple and seal their family for all the eternity.

On Sunday I gave a talk during sacrament meeting on Agency. It was great learning more about this subject. We played soccer as a zone in the Olympic Stadium today!  It was a lot of fun. I can´t believe how fast time goes by. I love you all so much. I hope that you all have a great week!

I know that everything in the Church is true. I know that Jesus Chirst lives and loves us more than we can imagine.

Bringing souls to Christ

August 3, 2015

Hola hermosa familia!

This week went great. We are working hard. I feel the time is going by too fast! We had a baptism on Saturday. Fanny's mom Rosa was baptised! It was really special. Fanny is so happy to not be the only member in her family anymore. Rosa bore a very special testimony after her baptism. She said that when Elder Rodriguez invited her to pray and ask Heavenly Father sincerely if the Church is true she felt the authority he had and she decided to finally pray and ask sincerely. When she did she felt great peace and love and she knew she needed to be baptised. The spirit was very strong. We are working with her husband Mario but so far he hasn't opened his heart. I know that he too will one day feel the truthfulness of the restored gospel. Fanny also was called as secratary in the young women's presidency yesterday! She is progresing a ton.
We are working hard with Marta and Miguel and Carmelo and Cristina trying to help them take out their papers. Things are going slow but I know they can do it! Sometimes I feel discouraged that they still haven't been able to get married but I am trusting in Heavenly Father's timing and I know everything will work out how it should according to His will.

Brandy's friends/neighbors came to Church yesterday. Her friend named Estrella after church told us that after being there she has decieded she wants to be baptised. Her other friend Karen also wants to be baptised and has a baptism date for the 22nd. It is amazing the fruits that come from one tiny seed planted by the twins (Nicole and Michele) giving us the reference of Brandy.
I love you all so much. I know that this work is led by the Lord Jesus Christ. I truly believe that Heavenly Father wants us all to make it back Home with Him. My deepest desire and the reason I came here on the mission is because I want everyone to make it to the Celestial Kingdom. I know the power of the Atonement is real and I am so grateful for the beautiful plan of salvation. Heavenly Father is perfect. Loving and serving others is the best way to live. Keep pressing forward!

The Spirit of God like a fire is burning!

July 27, 2015

Hi family!
Today I started the last transfer of my mission. Where did the time go? I am filled with so many emotions right now. I feel so much love towards you all and towards the people here in Honduras. My greatest desire is to accomplish all that Heavenly Father wants me to here in Honduras. I am working hard here with my new companion Elder Zelaya! He is from El Salvador. My third companion from El Salvador! haha My last companion in the mission... wow.
We are working hard with Miguel and Marta. Sis Cerrato the lawyer in our ward is great and is helping them a lot. Things are going good and this week or next week they will have their papers to get married! I am so happy for them! Marta bore her testimony during the last class at church on Sunday the Elders quorum and Relief society were combined. The bishop was asking different people to share what they were going to take home from what they learned at church and at the end she just stood up and said she felt she needed to say that she knows the church is true and that even though she hasn't been baptised yet she feels like she is a member of the Church. She started crying and spoke so many beautiful words about the love of the members and the truthfulness of the church and how the church has helped her son Christian so much. I felt the spirit so strong. It was one of the highlights of my mission to see her stand up and say what she said. Her and her husband Miguel are getting so close! :) It is so exciting. Last night we had a really special lesson with them about eternal marriage in the Temple. The spirit was very strong. My companion and I both bore our sincere and grateful testimonies for our parents who chose to be sealed in the Temple. More than anything in the World I am so happy for their goal to be sealed as a family one year after they are baptised.
Fanny's Mom, Rosa if all goes well will be baptised this Saturday! We are very excited. She has stopped drinking coffee since the day we taught the word of wisdom. She rocks!
There are  many more stories to tell but we will have time soon to talk and talk about all the adventures of Honduras. I love you family. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I have never seen Him but I believe. I know the Atonement has the power to heal us. I know that we truly can repent and be cleansed through the Atonement as we partake of the sacrament. Have a wonderful week!

Last transfer, last companion! What?!

July 20, 2015

FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!
Hola! I can´t believe it. This week I start my last transfer in the mission. My companion Elder Rodriguz goes to his home in Dominican Republic this Thursday. I wonder who my last companion will be... Its almost 100% sure that I will stay in this area but we will find out tomorrow. I hope I will stay to continue to help our investigators and recent converts. I am filled with so many emotions. I just hope that I can accomplish everything Heavenly Father wants me to acomplish. I love this work so much and I love the people so much. I feel like a Hondureño or Catracho like they call themselves here.

On Saturday we had a baptism! Brandy, the friend of Nicole and Michele(the twins) was baptised! It was really special. The twins and two other young women sang a beautiful song at the baptism. Brandy's mom Ivis, Fabiola (the sister of Brandy's step dad) and one other friend came. My companion baptised Brandy. His last baptism in the mission! So crazy. But he has work to do when he gets home. His parents aren't members of the Church yet. Just him and his sister. He has been a great companion. I'm going to miss being with him. Walking home from the baptism Fabiola asked us how many time lessons does someone have to listen to be baptised. I told her there's 5 lessons but we usually don't teach each one in just one visit. Then I asked her if she would like to be baptised. She enthusiastically told me she would love to. Then I asked her how about we prepare a baptism service for August 15 for you? She was like, really?! It was so awesome how excited she was. She said she will be going with Brandy every Sunday to church. We gave her a Book of Mormon to read and pray to know the truth. Brandy's mom Ivis has a powerful testimony of the Church. She bore her testimony at the baptism as well as Brandy. Sadly Ivis will be working the next 4 Sundays and then she will have the following 4 off work. She is going to try and find another job. She also needs to get divorced and then married with Miguel(the man she is with right now). Its going to be a long process but one day I know she will be baptised. :) Today they invited us to eat lunch with them. It was a lot of fun!
Carmelo, Cristina, Miguel, and Marta are still in the process of taking out their papers to get married. It's quite the process! haha We definitely are learning to have patience as well as them.

Two of our recent converts went to the temple last Friday. Christian (Miguel and Martas son) and Fanny. It was really special because Fanny took two names. Her grandma and her older brother who passed away. She asked Christian to be baptised for her brother. I wish so badly I could have been there with them. It's so cool that converts are baptising ancestors of other converts. Fanny was baptised for her grandma. It was so great to hear from them about their experience when they got back. Every Sunday Christian blesses the sacrament. It is so wonderful.
I love you all so much and hope that you continue to have a wonderful Summer. I know that Heavenly Father has all power and all wisdom. I know that if we trust in him and love him and all people we will be blessed forever and we will be happy. Love you! Keep going strong!

Love Elder Conover

P.S next week I will send pictures because I don't have my camera right now.

Adventures and miracles

July 13, 2015

Hola familia!

Thank you so much for all of your emails. I am so happy to hear that you all had a great time at the family reunion. All the pictures are beautiful.

Things are going great here in Honduras. The time is fyling by so fast and we are trying to enjoy every momemt and give our all. Yesterday was a lot of fun because we went to Pico bonito with Pres. Klein and the other zone leaders. It was so beautiful. I will send pictures. I also got to see Elder Solano because his area is close to where we went. It was great to see him. He is training a new Elder from Guatamala! The trip was also very tiring because we woke up at 4:30am and were in a small bus for around 3 hours to get there. We made it back home at 6:30 yesterday and then our stake presidency took us out to dinner for the baptisms we had in June. It was a really fun but exhausting day.

Miguel and Marta Carbahal (Christians parents) have started taking out their papers to get married! We are doing an activity to help raise funds so that they can buy all the needed documents. The goal is that on July 30th they will get married. Wahoo! Miguel still hasn't been able to get work off on Sundays to go to church but we continue to pray for him.

Carmelo and Cristina made it to Church on Sunday but so far haven't been able to take out their papers. The goal is also that by the end of this month they can take them out.

The recent convert Fanny's parents, Rosa and Mario are also starting to progress. Especially Rosa. She was going to a evangelical church but for months we have taught her and invited her to pray to know if the church was true. Just recently she received an answer to her prayer to know if the church is true. She told us she felt love after she prayed and asked. She told us that she hadn't ever asked specifically but now that she did she knows. She went to church and she is now testifying to her husband Mario of the truthfulness of the Church. It is so awesome! The great thing with them is that they are married! Rosa has gone to Church a few times and has a baptism date for August 1st. We are trying to help Mario make it to Church. Fanny is so happy her parents are opening their hearts and receiving the gospel.

We are also teaching a girl named Brandy and her family. She is 12 yrs old. She has a baptism date for this Saturday! Her Mom Ivis has read and prayed about what we have taught and also recieved an answer to her prayer of the truthfulness of the Church. Brandy has been going to Church the past weeks and Ivis made it this last Sunday. Brandy was a reference given to us by Michele and Nicole who are 14yr old twin sisters in the Ward. Ivis is willing to marry her husband to repent and be baptised. Brandy's Dad told us that some years ago he was listening to the missionaries. They are an awesome family!

We truly are so blessed to have the knowledge and testimony of the restored gospel. I am so grateful to be a missionary. I love helping families come unto Christ. I know the Church is true and that President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the Earth. I love and am so grateful for each one of you. I hope you have the best week ever! :)

God bless the USA!

July 6, 2015

Happy late 4th of July family! I love you! I enjoy reading your emails so much each week. Keep being so strong. The gospel of Jesus Christ has and continues to bless our family so much. The gospel of Jesus Christ truly is the only way to true happiness.
Things are going great here with my companion Elder Rodriguez. Carmelo and Cristina are back together and they have started the process of taking out their papers to get married! They came to Church on Sunday and they are reading! They are awesome! We are so happy for the great choices they are making.
The Mejia Carbahal family (Miguel and Marta) is doing good also. Christian blesses the sacrament every week and even though he is going to turn 18 before EFY the Stake President gave him permission to go. They go in December! Marta almost always comes to church and Miguel is trying to get work off on Sundays so that he can join his family. The members have been visiting a lot this family and it is helping a ton! They are feeling the pure love of Christ as members visit them. They are so grateful they have found the true church and they have very strong testimonies. They too need to take out their papers to get married.
We have a goal to always find at least 10 new investigators each week. This transfer we have passed our goal everyweek!
I love sharing the gospel. Many people need the light that comes from the Atonement in their lives. I know the Book of Mormon is true. Today in the bus I talked with a man named José about the Book of Mormon and gave him a copy. He told me he will read, ponder, and pray. I wrote down his information so that the missionaries can go visit him. He seemed very interested. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that it leads us to all truth and righteousness. I love you all so much. You are in my prayers everyday. I hope you have another great summer week!

Hello from Honduras!

June 29, 2015

Hola familia!

This week went really well. I continue to learn everyday. Today was fun because we went and played soccer on a big field with the zone. It's been a while since I've played on a big field. It was tiring but a lot of fun! I love the feeling I get after excersising really hard. It reminds me of crossfit. :)

Saturday was awesome becaus
e Elio, Marcos, Astrid, and Densel were baptised! Elio is a young man who is 14 yrs old. He lives near by us. He goes to seminary and learns really fast. Marcos, Astrid, and Densel are three kids who live in a home where many of the people are members. Their aunt and cousins are members. We have been teaching them my whole time in this area but until now they have been consistently going to church. They are great! It was a special day!

Carmelo's wife Cristina left him on Saturday. He is really sad she left him and their little daughter but supposedly she will be coming back...He came to Church on Sunday with his little daughter and his sister. We visited him after in the afternoon and had a great lesson! He told us that he knows now that this is the true church. He has the desire to be baptised but wants to wait for his wife to come home and get married with her. They have a baptism date for the 25th of July. Hopefully his wife Cristina can make it home soon.

We are actually teaching 12 different couples! They all need to be married! haha We are trying to decide who will progress most and focus on helping them. It is a great blessing to be teaching so many families.

I know that we belong to the true Church of Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and loves us. I know that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for each one of us. Yesterday I felt the need to repent of some things so after church I knelt by the side of my bed and prayed sincerely to my Heavenly Father pleading for forgivness. After the prayer I could feel the power of the Atonement working in me. I know that Heavenly Father forgives us of our sins if we repent.

I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever!

Open thy mouth and fear not

June 22, 2015

Dear family,
Today is going great! We woke up and did some exercise, studied, got our hair cut, bought some groceries, cleaned the house and now I'm here! I love sharing the gospel with the people. My favorite part about being a missionary is being out in the field talking with people and teaching families.
On Friday we had a multi zone conference with Pres. Klein. It was great! He always helps us increase our faith in Jesus Christ and our charity. Elder Rodriguez and I are getting along great. We love doing this work. Since the zone conference we have started to open our mouths more and look for more opportunities to serve others. We explain to all people that we are disciples of Christ and that the message we share will bless their lives. In various occasions we have challenged people to be baptised after just a couple of minutes talking with them. We have felt the great power of our calling as representatives of the Lord and we feel a sense of urgency to help this work move forward. Everyday we find new people to teach. It is a great joy and blessing!
I have been reading the words of the Savior in 3 Nephi during my personal study as well as the Liahona from this month. There are some great articles in the Liahona!
I don´t think I told you guys that the daughter of Luis Torres (the man who was baptised in the Ceiba that was in a wheelchair) is receiving the sister missionaries and she was baptised a few weeks ago!
We are teaching so many couples who need to get married. It's hard but we are trying our best to help them. We know that we are planting many seeds for future missionaries.
I can´t believe how fast time is going by. I love you all so much and am so grateful to hear from you each week. Keep having a wonderful summer! :)

Hey family!

June 15, 2015

Hello family!

Things are going awesome here in San Pedro Sula! Uncle Josh is going to be happy to hear who my new companion is. His name is Elder Rodriguez and he is from the Dominican Republic. He is super awesome! We are getting along really well. He knows the scriptures very well and teaches with great power and authority. I am already learning so much from him. The crazy thing is that this is his last change! That means that most likely I will finish here in this area with one more companion after him.

Great things are happening here in our area. We have many less actives, recent converts, and investigators that we are working with. I have felt the spirit lately testifying to me of the truthfulness of the restoration. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he restored His Church through the prophet Joseph Smith.

I love you all so much. I wish that I could share more but I'm out of time. Have a wonderful week! Keep pressing forward!

The super week!

June 8, 2015

Hey family!

This last week went really good! We set incredibly high goals and we didn't reach all of them but we did have great results. We were able to find many new investigators to teach, we helped two families move homes, and the happiest part was Christian Mejia our recent convert baptised Abigail! A girl that his aunt takes care of. Abby lives in an extra room behind Christian's house. She is basically a sister to him. The Aunt that takes care of her is named Iris and she was less active but now she has gone two Sundays in a row! The baptism went really good. It was very spiritual and there was lots of family and friend support. Christian also blessed the sacrament yesterday for the first time. He now goes to church with a white shirt and tie. It is so special to watch the converts progress in the gospel. Fanny Días another convert (the young women who went to the temple) bore her testimony yesterday. Her testimony has grown so much! The girl we baptised a couple months ago named Laura gave a talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost at Abby's baptism. It was awesome! Laura's less active brother Josue Manuel also for the first time all my time here made it to church on Sunday! The work is going great! :)

I am so glad to hear that you are all having a great Summer! As I type this it is pouring rain outside. It's really nice to have a break from the heat. Today we went to Progresso and I bought some new shoes to work in. Sadly the shoes I bought in Ceiba are worn out now and I have blisters on my feet because the sole of the shoe is all worn out. I had to buy new shoes. I found a pair of black and a pair of brown shoes. They seem pretty good and I was able to get them both for 45 dollars. It was hurting to walk so it feels really nice having new shoes! :) I also saw Henry (our convert when I was in Jazmines) while we were there walking in the street. It was awesome to see him!

This wednesday we have transfers. My companion Elder Monterrosa heads home to Guatamala Thursday morning. The chances of me being transferred are basically zero. I wonder who my new companion will be?! I can't believe how fast time flies by. I LOVE YOU all so much. Keep having a super great summer!

Crazy pigs, spies, and working hard

June 1, 2015

Hey family!
I LOVE YOU! Happy start to SUMMER! I am so happy to hear that you all are enjoying your summer. I'm especially happy for you Matthew graduating from High School! Wahooo! Way to go! Emily, I'm so happy you are having the best summer ever! Sounds like you are having quite the adventures! :) A.J, nice job on the mtn bike! You are a stud. I'm glad you didn't get hurt too bad when you fell. I think it's awesome you are going off sugar for the summer. Great goal! Miriam and Abby, Have a blast at Nauvoo! You will love your first plane ride! :) I remember when Matthew and I went. It was a great experience. Dad and Mom thank you for always strengthening me with your strong testimonies and love. Thanks for always leading our family in righteousness. Brothers and sisters please enjoy and be grateful for family scrips, FHE, prayer, and dinner together. When away from home you will look back and these will be some of the greatest memories. Enjoy every moment with the family. I love you all so much and you are always in my prayers.
This last week went really great! We were able to find many new investigators, many of which seem really open to receive the gospel. One afternoon we were walking in the street and out of no where three boys with ropes tied to the necks of huge pigs came running down the street! They were running and whipping the pigs and the pigs were runnning fast! It was so random and funny. :) Right after this we found a man named Alan Mayes who has been less active for around 20 yrs. He was really happy to receive us. Christian the recent convert has been going out with us in the afternoon to visit. He has a great testimony. We put a baptism date with his Mom and Dad (Bro and Sis Mejia Carbahal) for July 4th. They have many obstacles in front of them but they are willing to work towards this goal. We are so happy for this family.
Yesterday we were on divisions with the Assistants. I went to their area with Elder Parraga from Ecuador. It was a good experience! We were contacting a house and two little kids came out and we started talking to them. We asked them if they could have their parents come to the door so the little boy ran inside, we heard him talking to a man and the man said that we are spies! hahaha the little boy came back out and went to the little girl and whispered in her ear ¨shhh they're spies¨haha we were laughing so hard! We told the little boy that we represent Jesus Christ and only want to share a short message about Him so the little boy ran back inside. They didn't let us in but it was a really funny experience. :)
This week we are going to go all out! Right after we finish writing here our super week begins! This morning we helped a family move. They are less active. It was great! WE ARE PUMPED! Our goal is to find 50 new investigators this week! I love you all so much! Hope you have a super week as well and that you too can find opportunties to share the gospel! I know the Savior Jesus Christ lives. I know that He knows us and can help us change for the better.

from Elder Conover!

May 25, 2015

Hello family!

First off I did get your package you sent me for my birthday! Thank you so much! I enjoyed every card, gift and, treat! I love you all so much.

This week went good! We had interviews with Pres. Klein on Wednesday and Thursday. As each missionary waited for their interview we did family history on the computers in the family history room at the stake center. It was great! Did you get the names I sent you Mom? Going back on one of our family lines I made it to the year 210! It was crazy. There are a whole bunch of Kings in our family history. It was a cool experience. I have never worked on family history so much. We are working a lot more with the recent converts on family history now and I am learning to love family history! I challenge each on of you to do more.

On Friday the ward went to the temple and our recent convert Fanny went to the Temple! I am so happy she was able to go. She is very strong in the gospel and came home even more energized!

Next week we are going to work like we never have before! We are going to do a super week and double our hours in the field. We are only going to study for 10 min and leave the house at 8 in the morning only eat lunch and leave again from 1- 9:30! Next Monday I am only going to read your emails and send a short email. We are going to work all day p-day. Another companionship did this and Pres. Klein told us about it. We decided we want to do it the last full week we have together (next week) because my companion Elder Monterrosa goes home on June 10th. We are pumped! It's going to be tiring but so awesome!

I love you all so much! Thank you for always supporting and loving me. I feel the help of the Atonement in my life. I am trying to understand Jesus Christ and His Atonement more. I know that having Charity is the key to happiness. Have a super great week!

May 18, 2015

Dear loving family,
Today was good because I cleaned our house. It was getting really dirty! It feels really good to have things clean! :)
Yesterday Christian recieved the Aaronic priesthood! He also visited with us all afternoon last Thursday. He has desires to serve a mission! :) We are so happy for him and his family. They continue to progress which fills us with joy.
Last week was family week here. On Tuesday we had a great zone meeting in the morning and that night in the ward we had a family history workshop. It was good because many recent converts came as well as the Mejia Carbahal family! On Thursday we performed a funny talent at the talent show in the ward. We performed the morning of a missionary. I will try to send pictures next week. Saturday morning we had the event at the Olympic gym. It was good! We talked to a lot of people and handed out a bunch of pamphlets! Some people gave us their numbers and addresses so that we can send the missionaries to their houses. The coolest part probably was that the director of the whole event wanted a Book of Mormon and he gave us his number and address. He was really cool, and very nice! I will have to share more about the event next week. That same night we had the Stake talent show and we performed the same thing. It was really fun!
I love you all so much and hope you have a wonderful week. I know that serving others brings happiness. I know that Our Father in Heaven loves us and Jesus Christ. Stay strong and keep going!

Dear loving family,

Thank you so much for each one of your emails. You are all incredibly kind. I wish that I could respond to each one of you but I don't have time today. It feels weird turning 20 yrs old. I dont want to grow up so fast. ¨I want to be forever young¨ haha No but I am so grateful for each new year of life. Today has been a great day! In the morning we went and played soccer with the zone! Like you all know there are not many things that make me happier than playing sports so that was awesome! :) After we went to Pizza Hut! It was a lot of fun, the workers there even sang happy birthday to me! It was hilarious! Next week I will send pics, sorry this computer doesn't let me. The best part was that Christian, our investigator who will be baptised this Saturday came with us! We are becoming great friends and he is progressing in the gospel so much. He is making a lot of friends at church as well and that is helping him. It is so special sharing the gospel with people and watching their lives change.

I know that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I love testifying of Him everyday. I know that I have so many weaknesses but if I trust in Him I can become better.

I love you all so much and am so excited to share more this Sunday. I cant wait to Skype! :) (4:00 honduras time) Thank you again for your emails. They mean so much. I am going to try and watch the videos on another computer because I couldn't see them on this one. Thanks for sending the pictures. I love seing each one of you. You guys are the best!

Buenas tardes familia!
Thank you for each one of your emails. I love each of you so much. Thanks for sending the awesome pics and videos also. This week has been good! Delmi Canales at the begining of the lesson we had with her on Saturday told us ¨ brothers, yes I am going to be baptised¨. That was really awesome to hear her say on her own. Christian is doing really good too. He is very happy and excited about his baptism date for may 9th! Him and his whole family are progressing tons!
Transfers are this Wednesday! I might be transferred but who knows! The weeks are going by so fast. I am excited to see you but sometimes I think time is going by too fast! This week I memorized 2 nephi 2:8 and Romans 5:8. I am so grateful for the Savior and His Atonement. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the scriptures and for the temple and all the blessings we receive everyday. Thanks for always lifting me up and loving me. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

p.s Two things I keep forgetting to tell you is that in Ceiba my ipod was stolen so that was frustrating but Elder Monterrosa has a lot of music so thats good! The other thing is a lot happier, Luis Torres received the Melkezidech priesthood and is progressing lots!

Have the vision and never give up!

Hola family!

The mission is going really good. I can´t believe that transfers are next week! Time is flying by. The training in Ceiba on Monday was really good. Pres. Klein reminded us of the three most important things we teach:

1. God is our loving Heavenly Father
2. We are His children
3. Because of His love He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save and redeem us.

We must always remember the vision, or the why we do all we do. In the mission we are trying to have a good balance in all things. Baptisms, Strenghtening converts, activating less actives, etc.

Yesterday we had a great lesson with the Mejia Carvahal family. The first day we met them the Dad didnt even want to let us into the house but as they have read the Book of Mormon and prayed they now have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church. I truly am amazed about the progress they have made. The process of conversion is incredible! Their son Christian has progressed the most because he has been going to church. He has a baptism date for May 9th!

In my email to Mom I explained the situation with Jorge.

Two brothers we are teaching, Eduardo and Marcos finally came with us to Church on Sunday! It was really awesome! They said they want to go again next Sunday.

When Elder Anderson came and spoke to us he challenged us to memorize 10 scriptures about the Atonement. 5 from the BOM and 5 from the N.T. As a zone yesterday we chose 3 from the Bom and 3 from the N.T and each missionary can choose their own other 4. This morning I memorized 2 nephi 2:8. I love learning more about Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

Miracles truly exist. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that we belong to His Church. I love you all and hope you continue to have a wonderful week. :)

from Elder Conover this week!

Hola familia!!! Como estan?!

Thank you for your emails. I love hearing from each one of you. Things are going great here in Honduras! I feel like Satan is trying to bring me down by distracting my thoughts but I know who I am and I am trying to be strong. I am so grateful for the power of the fast. Yesterday I fasted for strength and virtue as part of my fast. I know that fasting strengthens us spiritually. I know because I have been strengthened.

Jorge is progressing a lot. Sadly this last week he was in a bus accident and he broke his arm and was really wounded. Poor guy. He has had to stop working and most likely he will have to return to his family in Fransisco Morazan. He told us he´s sad because he really wanted to be baptised. I know that if he´s not baptised with us he will be later. He truly has recieved a powerful testimony. On Saturday we helped him clean all of his wounds and bandage him back up. He came to Church yesterday. Please keep him in your prayers.

My testimony grows everyday. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ lives and the power of the Atonement is real. When we truly live the gospel there is peace and happiness.

I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever! You are always in my prayers. I am so grateful to be a Conover. Be strong and of good courage! :)
