Thank you!

May 4, 2015

Dear loving family,

Thank you so much for each one of your emails. You are all incredibly kind. I wish that I could respond to each one of you but I don't have time today. It feels weird turning 20 yrs old. I dont want to grow up so fast. ¨I want to be forever young¨ haha No but I am so grateful for each new year of life. Today has been a great day! In the morning we went and played soccer with the zone! Like you all know there are not many things that make me happier than playing sports so that was awesome! :) After we went to Pizza Hut! It was a lot of fun, the workers there even sang happy birthday to me! It was hilarious! Next week I will send pics, sorry this computer doesn't let me. The best part was that Christian, our investigator who will be baptised this Saturday came with us! We are becoming great friends and he is progressing in the gospel so much. He is making a lot of friends at church as well and that is helping him. It is so special sharing the gospel with people and watching their lives change.

I know that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I love testifying of Him everyday. I know that I have so many weaknesses but if I trust in Him I can become better.

I love you all so much and am so excited to share more this Sunday. I cant wait to Skype! :) (4:00 honduras time) Thank you again for your emails. They mean so much. I am going to try and watch the videos on another computer because I couldn't see them on this one. Thanks for sending the pictures. I love seing each one of you. You guys are the best!

Family!

Buenas tardes familia!
Thank you for each one of your emails. I love each of you so much. Thanks for sending the awesome pics and videos also. This week has been good! Delmi Canales at the begining of the lesson we had with her on Saturday told us ¨ brothers, yes I am going to be baptised¨. That was really awesome to hear her say on her own. Christian is doing really good too. He is very happy and excited about his baptism date for may 9th! Him and his whole family are progressing tons!
Transfers are this Wednesday! I might be transferred but who knows! The weeks are going by so fast. I am excited to see you but sometimes I think time is going by too fast! This week I memorized 2 nephi 2:8 and Romans 5:8. I am so grateful for the Savior and His Atonement. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the scriptures and for the temple and all the blessings we receive everyday. Thanks for always lifting me up and loving me. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

p.s Two things I keep forgetting to tell you is that in Ceiba my ipod was stolen so that was frustrating but Elder Monterrosa has a lot of music so thats good! The other thing is a lot happier, Luis Torres received the Melkezidech priesthood and is progressing lots!

Have the vision and never give up!

April 22, 2015

Hola family!

The mission is going really good. I can´t believe that transfers are next week! Time is flying by. The training in Ceiba on Monday was really good. Pres. Klein reminded us of the three most important things we teach:

1. God is our loving Heavenly Father
2. We are His children
3. Because of His love He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save and redeem us.

We must always remember the vision, or the why we do all we do. In the mission we are trying to have a good balance in all things. Baptisms, Strenghtening converts, activating less actives, etc.

Yesterday we had a great lesson with the Mejia Carvahal family. The first day we met them the Dad didnt even want to let us into the house but as they have read the Book of Mormon and prayed they now have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church. I truly am amazed about the progress they have made. The process of conversion is incredible! Their son Christian has progressed the most because he has been going to church. He has a baptism date for May 9th!

In my email to Mom I explained the situation with Jorge.

Two brothers we are teaching, Eduardo and Marcos finally came with us to Church on Sunday! It was really awesome! They said they want to go again next Sunday.

When Elder Anderson came and spoke to us he challenged us to memorize 10 scriptures about the Atonement. 5 from the BOM and 5 from the N.T. As a zone yesterday we chose 3 from the Bom and 3 from the N.T and each missionary can choose their own other 4. This morning I memorized 2 nephi 2:8. I love learning more about Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

Miracles truly exist. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that we belong to His Church. I love you all and hope you continue to have a wonderful week. :)

Hola familia!!! Como estan?!

Thank you for your emails. I love hearing from each one of you. Things are going great here in Honduras! I feel like Satan is trying to bring me down by distracting my thoughts but I know who I am and I am trying to be strong. I am so grateful for the power of the fast. Yesterday I fasted for strength and virtue as part of my fast. I know that fasting strengthens us spiritually. I know because I have been strengthened.

Jorge is progressing a lot. Sadly this last week he was in a bus accident and he broke his arm and was really wounded. Poor guy. He has had to stop working and most likely he will have to return to his family in Fransisco Morazan. He told us he´s sad because he really wanted to be baptised. I know that if he´s not baptised with us he will be later. He truly has recieved a powerful testimony. On Saturday we helped him clean all of his wounds and bandage him back up. He came to Church yesterday. Please keep him in your prayers.

My testimony grows everyday. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ lives and the power of the Atonement is real. When we truly live the gospel there is peace and happiness.

I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever! You are always in my prayers. I am so grateful to be a Conover. Be strong and of good courage! :)

Happy Spring break!

April 6, 2015

Hello Family!

Happy Easter and Spring break! I love you all so much. Today we had a great zone pday. We played waterballoon volleyball with towels and we watched cars 2 and ordered pizza. It was a lot of fun. I loved conference so much! It was my favorite conference of all time. :) Every talk helped me in some way or another. I felt the spirit very strongly as the Apostles spoke of the family and the great Plan of Salvation including the need of a Savior. I know with them that Jesus Christ lives and that through Him and His gospel we can have peace in this live, have happy families, and live together forever with our Heavenly Father. The plan is so perfect. I am so grateful for the family I have and for my knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of our investigators continue to progress. Last Monday night we had a FHE with Jorge at the house of Sis Paty. We wathced the short video on the Restoration. The spirit was so strong. Jorge said the closing prayer and sincerely said in his prayer that he believes all that Joseph Smith heard from God. Another miracle that happened this last week is we were walking fast down the street and a lady stopped us in the road. She asked us where one of our temples was located. (temple as in chapel). We told her and asked her who she was. She told us that she has a daughter that lives in SLC who is a member of the Church. The lady's name is Delmi. We planned a visit with her for thursday. On Thursday as we talked to her she told us the day before she saw us in the street her daughter in SLC told her to visit the church and then the next day she saw us! We had another great lesson with her on Friday. Delmi and her other daughter Eskarleth acepted a baptism date for may 2nd! She came to the Sunday afternoon session of Conference. She is truly a miracle! Jorge came to both sessions on Sunday. Sadly he works every other sunday but he is super pumped and is preparing for his baptism date the 16th of May. Many other great things are happening that I will have to share next week. I love this work. I know that Jesus Christ is at the head of the Church. Have a great spring break!

Miracles

March 30, 2015

Dear Family,

Many miracles have been occuring. In the last couple of weeks we have found 5 families! (Dad and Mom) I wish that I had time to share everything but I dont. I will share what I can. I feel so blessed and grateful for everyday and for the experiences we are having. A man named Carmelo came to Church the first Sunday after teaching him and then his wife came yesterday with him. They have a baptism date for the 2nd of May because they need to get married first. A less active member Sister Alfaro is now active and her daughter Laura was baptised on Saturday. I sent the picture on mom's email. A 19 yr old man named Jorge was prepared from the first day we met him. He read the pamphlet of the Restoration and prayed to know if the message is true. The third lesson with him he explained to us that he recieved an answer and that he knows this is the truth. He came with us to the baptism on Saturday. A boy named Edwin laminated the pamphlet of the Restoration and the Book of Mormon and was teaching his friends in school that we ¨the mormons¨(he already considers himself a mormon even though he's not baptised yet) believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father as he showed the first page of the pamphlet to them. He is so awesome. Great things are happening and great things are coming. I wish that I could write a lot more! ahhhh why does time go by so fast!

I love you all more than words can describe. I know that the Church is true. I know that Jesus lives and that if we become like Him we will be happy. Have a super week!

update!

March 23, 2015

Hey Family!

Sadly Elder Guzman had changes. But guess who my new companion is!? Elder Monterrosa! Elder Guzman's trainer! We were all together in Sonaguera. It's crazy how we have all come together afterwards! He is a super good missionary. I am learning a lot and we have a great relationship. Today we played our hearts out in the morning playing soccer with the zone. It was hot, tiring, and AWESOME! :) I love this work. The family who lives right in front of us are so awesome. It is special to have a family here in Honduras as well as the greatest family of all YOU in Highland. I love you all so much. I testify that Jesus Christ lives. I have felt our Heavenly Father's love. Have a great week!
