FAMILY!!!

The last letter. Wow. This has been an incredible adventure. I really don´t have much to write because I want to share everything that has been going on in person. This last weekend was the best weekend of my whole mission. I will tell you all about it on Thursday. :) I am so grateful for your love, support, and prayers these last 2 years. I can honestly say I have the best family in the whole World! I believe in miracles. I know that Heavnely Father loves us and that He has a perfect plan for each one of us His childeren. My testimony has grown so much.

Wednesday I have permision to go say good bye to my friends in Progresso! That will be fun! :) I feel so many emotions right now. I feel sort of like I felt 3 days before I left home. It's so hard for me to have to leave this beautiful country and the people I love so much but at the same time I am so excited to see each one of you. I am especially excited to meet my little brother CANNON! :)
Have a great few days and then you will all be in my arms. Hasta pronto!

Hello Family!

Thank you so much for your emails. Is this really my second to last p-day in Honduras? Today I cut my hair for the last time in Honduras. It's really hard for me to believe that two years have gone by! I feel so excited to see each one of you and at the same time I feel sad about leaving beautiful Honduras and all the people I love so much. The mission is the greatest experience I have ever had in my life.

This last weekend was really special because Bro and Sis Mejia Carbajal were MARRIED!!! and Sis Carbajal was baptised!!! The only obstacle Bro Mejia faces to be baptised is changing his work schedule so that he can have Sunday off work. He wasn´t able to change his schedule in time for the baptism but he will know soon if they give him Sunday off work so that he then can be baptised. Their 16yr old son Christian who is a recent convert baptised his mother. It was very special. I know that their family will be eternal. :) We are also teaching a member reference named Edgard. He is 19 yrs old. During the first lesson we challenged him to be baptised on Sep 12 and he accepted. After teaching him the first time he went home read the whole pamphlet of the restoration and prayed and asked Heavenly Father. The next visit he told us that he did recieve an answer, that he knows this is the truth and that he desires to be baptised. What a special miracle! I have never seen someone who is as prepared as he is. He also went to the baptism on Saturday and he has gone twice to church. He has the desire to serve a mission and would like to go to Argentina. Edgard is awesome!

We had interviews with Pres. Klein on Friday. My last interview! It was very different from all the interviews ive had before with him. We talked about my plans in life for: study, work, marriage, and staying true to the faith until the end. He gave me great counsel. I love Pres. Klein. He has been and will always be a great example to me. Saturday morning we listened to Pres. Russell M. Nelson brodcasted from Tegucigalpa! He spoke to all the missionaries in Honduras. Two missions in person and the other two broadcasted. It was a really special conference. His main message is that we help the people make it to the Temple. I felt the spirit strongly and I know that the leaders of the Church are inspired and guided by the Holy Ghost. I know that they have been called of God.

Family, I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know He and Heavenly Father love us. Heavenly Father really is the Father of our spirits. He loves us more than we can imagine. He has a perfect, and personal plan for each one of us. Joseph Smith really did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the spring of 1820. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Something new I learned on divisions yesterday with Elder Reese is that the Old Testament, New Testament, and the Book of Mormon begin with a family. Adam and Eve. Joseph and Mary, Lehi and Sariah. The family is a key part of the plan of salvation. He wants us to live happy together in this life and for all eternity. I love you all so much. You are my family. I am eternally grateful to be your son/brother. Keep pressing forward family! Have a fantastic week!

Hey family!

Wow sounds like the family reunion was a blast! You did so many great activities. It all sounds really funny also. haha I would have loved being there. Maybe we can go again in a few years. :) I really can´t believe how close we are to being together again. I'm giving it all I´ve got until the very end. It will be so wonderful to see each one of you again.

Things are going beyond great here! We are seing many miracles. Very likely this last week was the most succesful week I have had on my mission. The Lord is helping us and He is preparing the way.

On Thursday Miguel Carbahal´s mother passed away. She lived in the house with them. It's sad she had to pass away but the Mejia Carbahal family has lots of faith and they are handling things well. They know it's part of Heavenly Father's plan. Thursday night they had a viewing in their home and a huge part of the Ward was there giving love and support. We sang hymns by the side of the casket. The spirit was strong. Miguel and Marta were so grateful for the love and support the ward gave. We had talked with them last Tuesday and we found out that they both have their papers to get married! They decided that it would be better to do the wedding this Friday instead of last Friday so they could prepare things better. With the passing of Miguel's mom it all worked out how it needed to. His work gave him the whole weekend off so he was able to join us at Church yesterday. It was so great! It was the first time he has been able to see his son Christian bless the sacrament. Today he is going to talk with his boss and ask to have Sundays off. If he gets work off on Sundays he will be able to be baptised this Saturday with his wife Marta! They are getting married this Friday at 4:00. :) We are praying with all our heart that everything will work out and that his boss will soften her heart and give him Sundays off.

Another awesome thing that happened this last week was we stopped a man who always says hi to us on his bike. We told him who we are and gave him a pamphlet of the Restoration. He was very willing to learn more. We set a date to visit him in his home. My companion went with Elder Streeter because we were on divisions that day but my companion said that he read the whole pamphlet with all of his family and that they loved it! They excitedly accepted the invitation to join us at Church and yesterday we passed by for them and they went with us! The dad's name is Raul and his wife's name is Rosa and they have three little girls. They all came to Church yesterday! Many blessings come from just opening the mouth and proclaming the gospel. Tonight we have FHE with them and the Fernandez family (the members who live right in front of us).

I know more than I ever have before that Heavenly Father has a perfect plan for each one of us. He works in mysterious ways to accomplish his great designs. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know with all my heart that miracles exist. Heavenly Father loves us more than we can imagine. I love you all so much and hope you have a super great week! I am so excited for this week! It's going to be the best week ever!!!

Hola!

August 10, 2015

Hello Family!

I'm really out of time but thank you so much for all of your emails. Thanks for sending the great pictures too. I love you all so much. It won´t be too long until we can talk face to face about all that has gone on these last two years.

My companion and I are working hard. We taught 47 lessons and found 26 new investigators this last week. There are so many people here willing to hear the gospel. Sometimes the trial is helping them act upon what they learn. That's the difficult part. Sis Mejia Carbahal(Marta) has all her papers to get married and Bro Mejia (Miguel) should have taken his out today. We are going to visit them tonight and find out! :) They are getting so close!!! I am so happy for them and I know that one day they will make it to the temple and seal their family for all the eternity.

On Sunday I gave a talk during sacrament meeting on Agency. It was great learning more about this subject. We played soccer as a zone in the Olympic Stadium today!  It was a lot of fun. I can´t believe how fast time goes by. I love you all so much. I hope that you all have a great week!

I know that everything in the Church is true. I know that Jesus Chirst lives and loves us more than we can imagine.

Bringing souls to Christ

August 3, 2015

Hola hermosa familia!

This week went great. We are working hard. I feel the time is going by too fast! We had a baptism on Saturday. Fanny's mom Rosa was baptised! It was really special. Fanny is so happy to not be the only member in her family anymore. Rosa bore a very special testimony after her baptism. She said that when Elder Rodriguez invited her to pray and ask Heavenly Father sincerely if the Church is true she felt the authority he had and she decided to finally pray and ask sincerely. When she did she felt great peace and love and she knew she needed to be baptised. The spirit was very strong. We are working with her husband Mario but so far he hasn't opened his heart. I know that he too will one day feel the truthfulness of the restored gospel. Fanny also was called as secratary in the young women's presidency yesterday! She is progresing a ton.
We are working hard with Marta and Miguel and Carmelo and Cristina trying to help them take out their papers. Things are going slow but I know they can do it! Sometimes I feel discouraged that they still haven't been able to get married but I am trusting in Heavenly Father's timing and I know everything will work out how it should according to His will.

Brandy's friends/neighbors came to Church yesterday. Her friend named Estrella after church told us that after being there she has decieded she wants to be baptised. Her other friend Karen also wants to be baptised and has a baptism date for the 22nd. It is amazing the fruits that come from one tiny seed planted by the twins (Nicole and Michele) giving us the reference of Brandy.
I love you all so much. I know that this work is led by the Lord Jesus Christ. I truly believe that Heavenly Father wants us all to make it back Home with Him. My deepest desire and the reason I came here on the mission is because I want everyone to make it to the Celestial Kingdom. I know the power of the Atonement is real and I am so grateful for the beautiful plan of salvation. Heavenly Father is perfect. Loving and serving others is the best way to live. Keep pressing forward!

The Spirit of God like a fire is burning!

July 27, 2015

Hi family!
Today I started the last transfer of my mission. Where did the time go? I am filled with so many emotions right now. I feel so much love towards you all and towards the people here in Honduras. My greatest desire is to accomplish all that Heavenly Father wants me to here in Honduras. I am working hard here with my new companion Elder Zelaya! He is from El Salvador. My third companion from El Salvador! haha My last companion in the mission... wow.
We are working hard with Miguel and Marta. Sis Cerrato the lawyer in our ward is great and is helping them a lot. Things are going good and this week or next week they will have their papers to get married! I am so happy for them! Marta bore her testimony during the last class at church on Sunday the Elders quorum and Relief society were combined. The bishop was asking different people to share what they were going to take home from what they learned at church and at the end she just stood up and said she felt she needed to say that she knows the church is true and that even though she hasn't been baptised yet she feels like she is a member of the Church. She started crying and spoke so many beautiful words about the love of the members and the truthfulness of the church and how the church has helped her son Christian so much. I felt the spirit so strong. It was one of the highlights of my mission to see her stand up and say what she said. Her and her husband Miguel are getting so close! :) It is so exciting. Last night we had a really special lesson with them about eternal marriage in the Temple. The spirit was very strong. My companion and I both bore our sincere and grateful testimonies for our parents who chose to be sealed in the Temple. More than anything in the World I am so happy for their goal to be sealed as a family one year after they are baptised.
Fanny's Mom, Rosa if all goes well will be baptised this Saturday! We are very excited. She has stopped drinking coffee since the day we taught the word of wisdom. She rocks!
There are  many more stories to tell but we will have time soon to talk and talk about all the adventures of Honduras. I love you family. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I have never seen Him but I believe. I know the Atonement has the power to heal us. I know that we truly can repent and be cleansed through the Atonement as we partake of the sacrament. Have a wonderful week!

Last transfer, last companion! What?!

July 20, 2015

FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!
Hola! I can´t believe it. This week I start my last transfer in the mission. My companion Elder Rodriguz goes to his home in Dominican Republic this Thursday. I wonder who my last companion will be... Its almost 100% sure that I will stay in this area but we will find out tomorrow. I hope I will stay to continue to help our investigators and recent converts. I am filled with so many emotions. I just hope that I can accomplish everything Heavenly Father wants me to acomplish. I love this work so much and I love the people so much. I feel like a HondureƱo or Catracho like they call themselves here.

On Saturday we had a baptism! Brandy, the friend of Nicole and Michele(the twins) was baptised! It was really special. The twins and two other young women sang a beautiful song at the baptism. Brandy's mom Ivis, Fabiola (the sister of Brandy's step dad) and one other friend came. My companion baptised Brandy. His last baptism in the mission! So crazy. But he has work to do when he gets home. His parents aren't members of the Church yet. Just him and his sister. He has been a great companion. I'm going to miss being with him. Walking home from the baptism Fabiola asked us how many time lessons does someone have to listen to be baptised. I told her there's 5 lessons but we usually don't teach each one in just one visit. Then I asked her if she would like to be baptised. She enthusiastically told me she would love to. Then I asked her how about we prepare a baptism service for August 15 for you? She was like, really?! It was so awesome how excited she was. She said she will be going with Brandy every Sunday to church. We gave her a Book of Mormon to read and pray to know the truth. Brandy's mom Ivis has a powerful testimony of the Church. She bore her testimony at the baptism as well as Brandy. Sadly Ivis will be working the next 4 Sundays and then she will have the following 4 off work. She is going to try and find another job. She also needs to get divorced and then married with Miguel(the man she is with right now). Its going to be a long process but one day I know she will be baptised. :) Today they invited us to eat lunch with them. It was a lot of fun!
Carmelo, Cristina, Miguel, and Marta are still in the process of taking out their papers to get married. It's quite the process! haha We definitely are learning to have patience as well as them.

Two of our recent converts went to the temple last Friday. Christian (Miguel and Martas son) and Fanny. It was really special because Fanny took two names. Her grandma and her older brother who passed away. She asked Christian to be baptised for her brother. I wish so badly I could have been there with them. It's so cool that converts are baptising ancestors of other converts. Fanny was baptised for her grandma. It was so great to hear from them about their experience when they got back. Every Sunday Christian blesses the sacrament. It is so wonderful.
I love you all so much and hope that you continue to have a wonderful Summer. I know that Heavenly Father has all power and all wisdom. I know that if we trust in him and love him and all people we will be blessed forever and we will be happy. Love you! Keep going strong!

Love Elder Conover

P.S next week I will send pictures because I don't have my camera right now.
